Other FAQs
How Long Do Orders Usually Take?
We state a typical delivery time of 3-4 working days from the date of placing of the order providing the goods are in stock (which well over 99% of the time they are). However we aim to be (and we generally are) much quicker than that whenever we can. If you have a certain date, e.g. a birthday, by which you absolutely positively must receive your order then please let us know and we’ll do our very best to help.
Out of Stock ItemsIf an item is out of stock temporarily but we are expecting it in shortly then we’ll hold your order until we can send everything in one go.
If an item is out of stock for more than a couple of days then we’ll email you to advise you of the situation and ask you if you would like us to send everything when the missing item arrives in stock… or if you would prefer us to send what we can straight away and the missing item when we receive it. Of course, there will be no extra shipping charge either way.
We reserve the right to replace items with a similar substitute of an equal or greater value in the very unusual circumstance that we are unable to obtain an item (we always strive to send what you order - if you don't like the substitute you can, of course, return it to us).
We don’t send out packages on Saturdays or Sundays (we need a break too!).
As we are sure you will understand, we cannot be held responsible for the delays caused by any third party.
How Long Does Delivery Take?
We process orders from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with the exception of UK Bank Holidays. We try to send out orders either on the day that we receive them, or the following day, wherever possible.
FedEx UK Deliveries
We ship FedEx (and all) orders as quickly as we can. We will always give an indication of the likely shipping time as part of the checkout process.
This is a best estimate for the shipping time, given the time of the year and other conditions and is not guaranteed.
Royal Mail Deliveries
Royal Mail 24 - (the business replacement for 1st Class)
The Royal Mail states that, for items shipped using the Royal Mail 24 service, "we aim to deliver your parcels the next working day".
Royal Mail 48 - (the business replacement for 2nd Class)
The Royal Mail states that, for items shipped using the Royal Mail 48 service, "we aim to deliver your parcels within two working days, with a small minority within 3 working days".
However, just like when you post a letter, deliveries can occasionally take longer than these stated target delivery times, and this is out of our control.
Neither the Royal Mail 24 nor 48 services are trackable. In both instances once we have dispatched your order we are unable to influence how quickly it arrives nor can we change the delivery address.
Can I Order Sweets If I Am Outside The UK?
Absolutely, although sadly we are currently unable to accept orders for delivery in the EU due to restrictions associated with Brexit. And we are unable to ship to the USA either due to the excessive restrictions and documentation required.
For other countries, the shopping cart will work out everything for you - from UK VAT (where applicable), the shipping options and associated costs.
If your country is not listed just drop us an e-mail and we will add it.
Please Note: any import taxes are the duty of the customer to pay if and where applicable.

How Do I Make A Purchase?
Making a Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our shop, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.
We accept payment by debit or credit cards - this is handled by our secure credit card processing facility with PayPal. We can also accept payment by cheques drawn on UK banks, providing that the cheque guarantee card number is written on the back of the cheque. In this case orders are processed once the cheque has cleared.
If you are shopping from outside the UK, just place your order as normal and your debit/credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency.
What About Tax?
For orders made from the UK (excluding the Channel Islands), UK VAT at the prevailing rate (currently 20%) is added automatically to your order.
All other orders are VAT free and you will not be charged this tax.
What If I Select Cheque Payment Instead Of Debit/Credit Card?
You can send us a cheque (our address is written on your order confirmation email) and, once that has cleared, we will process your order.
If we don't receive payment then we'll regard your order as unwanted and we will leave it unprocessed. What Payment Cards Can I Use?
We can accept all of the major credit and debit cards:
- VISA- VISA Delta (Debit)
- Mastercard
- Switch/Maestro
- Solo
- Electron
- American Express (that'll do nicely!)
What If I Am Not Happy With My Order?
We genuinely want you to be delighted with your sweets.
If there is problem at all with the quality of the products, please return them, within 7 days of receipt, to: Customer Returns, A Quarter Of, Unit 10, Appleby Business Centre, Eden Street, Blackburn BB1 3BL. Please enclose your contact details, any reference labels associated with the product and details of the problem.
Please note: we do our best to ensure that all sweets are sent out in perfect condition - we can not accept responsibility for the climatic conditions experienced once the product has been dispatched e.g. chocolate melting when exposed to heat.
Where Do I Enter A Voucher/Discount Coupon Code?
You can either enter your code on the shopping card page
or at the checkout:
What is a Debit or Credit Card Security Code?
The Debit or Credit Card Security Code (sometimes known as the Card Verification Value or CVV) is a 3 (or in some instances 4) digit number found on your debit/credit card. It is an additional safeguard that helps us validate your purchase and protect against fraud. It is not contained in the magnetic stripe information and is therefore not printed on sales receipts.
Where is the CVV located?
VISA, MASTERCARD & MAESTRO
You can find your card verification code on the reverse side of your credit card, printed into the signature field. It is a 3-digit group for most cards (apart than American Express).
AMERICAN EXPRESS
The American Express Card verification code is a 4-digit number printed on the front of your card. It appears after and to the right (above) of your card number.
How Do Gift Vouchers Work?
Purchasing Gift Vouchers
Gift Vouchers are purchased just like any other item in our store. You can pay for them using the stores standard payment method(s). Once purchased the value of the Gift Voucher will be added to your own personal Gift Voucher Account.
If you have funds in your Gift Voucher Account, you will notice that the amount now shows in the Store Credit section of your Account Information page (which is displayed when you log in or when you click the "My Account" link at the top of the page).
The Store Credit section also provides a link to the page where you can send the Gift Voucher (with an accompanying message if you wish) to someone via email.
How To Send Gift Vouchers
To send a Gift Voucher you need to go to our Send Gift Voucher Page. You can find the link to this page in Store Credit section of your Account Information page (which is displayed when you log in or when you click the "My Account" link at the top of the page).

- The amount you want to send. (Note you don't have to send the full amount that is in your Gift Voucher Account.)
